Buffering the Vampire Slayer Presents Halloween Hootenanny @ Miracle Theatre

Miracle Theatre All Ages
Doors 6:30PM | Show 7:30PM

About the event

Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Kristin Russo, hosts of the critically acclaimed Buffy rewatch podcast Buffering the Vampire Slayer, for their first-ever Halloween Hootenanny!! They will be watching and discussing their favorite scenes from all three of Buffy’s iconic Halloween episodes — “Halloween,” “Fear, Itself,” and “All The Way” — live with all of you!! There will also be a costume contest (Ethan Rayne cordially not invited), and ridiculously themed games such as “Jenny and Kristin Bob For Apples On Stage” (because why NOT). We also just *might* have some very spooktacular special guests join in on our Buffy Halloween conversation!

Buffering: A Rewatch Adventure began in 2016 with Buffering the Vampire Slayer: an episodic rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hosted by Jenny Owen Youngs (professional musician & recreational Whedonverse aficionado) and Kristin Russo (professional writer & former goth teen) — and now continues through some of the most iconic genre shows rooted in the 90s and 00s.

Buffering’s work has been met with critical praise from The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Time, and Paste Magazine! Not bad for two girls with a love of 90s nostalgia and patriarchy-smashing.

The Miracle Theater is fully ADA accessible. Anyone that needs ADA seating reserved can email Buffering directly at hello@bufferingcast.com.

COVID-19 Precautions

We will be asking that all Halloween Hootenanny attendees self-monitor using a COVID/wellness questionnaire that will be sent out digitally in advance of the event, and we encourage event attendees to take a COVID rapid test at home on the day of the show itself.

If you would like a test provided for you at the door, please fill out this form on or before October 20, 2024 and we will have one ready for you!

Also:

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be set up in the event space for easy access;
  • Masks are encouraged and will be made available to any attendees who would like one;
  • The Miracle Theater has an air filtration system that will be running for the duration of the event!

Thank you for taking care of each other and immunocompromised communities!
